In Loving Memory of Vasilios Zimplas It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Vasilios Zimplas, who fell asleep in the Lord on January 12, 2025, at the age of 54. God granted Vasilios a peaceful Christian ending to his life, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Born on April 15, 1970, in Giannitsa, Greece, Vasilios was the cherished son of Maria and George Zimplas. A profoundly spiritual man, Vasilios lived his life rooted in his Orthodox faith, guided by love, devotion, and compassion. His kindness and generosity touched everyone who had the blessing to know him. Vasilios was a devoted husband, father, sibling, and a loyal friend to many. He cherished his family above all else, doing everything for his three beloved daughters, who were the light of his life. Known for his generous heart, Vasilios was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He brought warmth, care, and love to everyone he met through his kind deeds, sharing a meal, or offering his unwavering support. In August 2021, Vasilios was diagnosed with mucosal melanoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer which spread to the brain. Despite being given just two months to live, his strength, faith, and determination enabled him to fight valiantly for over four years. His incredible journey would not have been possible without the care and dedication of his remarkable medical team at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, whose expertise and compassion gave him and his family precious additional time together. Vasilios is survived by his loving wife, Parthena Zimplas, and his three daughters, Maria, Katerina, and Sophia Zimplas, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. A visitation will be held on January 16th 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 39 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale, MA 02131. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. The burial will take place at St Joseph Cemetery, 1095 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA In keeping with Vasilios' generous spirit, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to St Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church.
