Obituary

Thomas Nicholas Koulouris
July 7, 1959 – October 5, 2026

Thomas Nicholas Koulouris, 67, of Belmont, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in hospice care on October 5, 2026.

Born and raised in Belmont, Massachusetts, Tom was the eldest child of the late Nicholas Anthony Koulouris and the late Jenny (Lingos) Koulouris. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1977 and later attended Northeastern University.

His professional life reflected his interest in science and chemistry. Tom began his career as an analytical chemist before joining Duracell in Needham, where he worked in research and development. He went on to serve as a senior chemistry technician at Procter & Gamble in Needham and QD Vision, Inc., in Lexington. In later years, he worked as a call dispatcher for American Alarm and as a medical courier for Boston Clinical Laboratories.

Tom had a lifelong appreciation for stereo equipment and films, building an extensive collection of both. He enjoyed choosing small gifts for his nephews, Nicholas and Matthew Sarcia, looking for something they would enjoy. Tom was proud of his Greek heritage and had a deep affection for dogs; their company brought him genuine happiness and some of his biggest smiles.

Tom is survived by his three sisters: Susan Koulouris of Plymouth, Massachusetts; Linda Shea of Ayer, Massachusetts and her husband Paul; and Amy Sarcia and her husband, Richard Sarcia, of Lexington, Massachusetts. He also leaves his niece, Alexandra Shea, and his nephews, Nicholas Sarcia and Matthew Sarcia.

A private family service will be held at St. Athanasius The Great Greek Orthodox Church in Arlington on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Burial will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
