Obituary

Thespina(Triantafilou) Trearchis, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 1, 1930 to the late Constantine and Edith (Carveth) Triantafilou and grew up in Woburn, Massachusetts. Thespina graduated from Woburn High School in 1948 and Salem Teachers College in 1952. She taught business classes at Wilmington High School and Foxboro High School for many years until her retirement in 1991. Thespina was married to the love of her life, the late George P. Trearchis, for 59 years. One of her greatest joys was preparing dinners for her family alongside her husband. She was a faithful member of the Greek Orthodox Church and enjoyed serving on the Philoptochos Society with her friends. Thespina was the loving mother of Charles and Paula along with their spouses Lori (Stackhouse) Trearchis and Michael McGeady, respectively. She cherished her four grandchildren Alexa Trearchis, Deanna Trearchis, John McGeady, and Anna McGeady. She was the devoted eldest sister to Mary Barbas and her late husband John Barbas, Presbytera Helen Coulouras and her husband Rev. Ernest Coulouras, and Rev. Nicholas Triantafilou and Presbytera Diane; loving sister-in-law of the late Stella Trearchis Traegde, the late Peter Trearchis, the late John Trearchis and his wife Ellen, Mary Trearchis, Elaine and her husband George Righos, and the late Leo Trearchis and his wife Janet. She was a loving aunt to two generations of nieces and nephews, and she was a loyal, true, and generous lady who built many lasting friendships. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 24, from 9:00am to 10:00am at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Pawtucket 97 Walcott St Pawtucket, RI. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation in the church at 10:00am. Burial will be at the Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thespina's name may be made to the International Orthodox Christian Charities, Post Office Box 17398, Baltimore, MD 21297-0429.
