Theodore "Ted" Panagopoulos, 77, passed away on Tuesday, October 5 in Boston, MA after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

He was born in the Megalopolis, Greece, the son of the late Panagiotis and Efthemia. He met his wife, Sofia, and got married in 1968, heading to the United States to start a new life.

He sought out joy in life and loved celebrations.  A true extrovert, he found every opportunity to socialize, dine and dance.  This enthusiasm fueled his passion for working in the hospitality industry, where he spent almost 45 years at the Boston Marriott Newton, elevating from server to dining room manager.  He had many friends, close colleagues, and adoring clients.

He loved his church community and enjoyed helping at the annual festivals.  He often organized donations of gently used restaurant equipment to be given to his church and was recognized as Parishioner of the Year in 2007.

Ted's family made him so proud, something he often mentioned. He is survived by his wife, Sofia and celebrated 53 years of marriage together; his sons Peter and his wife, Maria, and Charles and his wife, Anastasia; and his beloved grandchildren Theodore, John, Sophia and Fotios.

He was the loving brother of the late Christos and his wife Eleni, the late Charles, Voula and her husband Panagiotis, Nitsa and her husband Georgios, Eleftheria and her late husband, Lazarus, and the late Vasiliki and her late husband Vasilios. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Greece.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday October 7, 2021 at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave., Watertown, Massachusetts at 10:00 AM and a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Taxiarchae Church.

Burial to take place at The Gardens Cemetery, West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
