Theodore Karavakis passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 22nd in Filiatra, Messinia, Greece. He emigrated to the US in 1969.

Theodore was a devout Greek Orthodox Christian who attended church weekly. He was a quiet gentleman who loved to spend time with his family. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Polixeni planting flowers and making pizza.

Theodore leaves behind his best friend and loving wife, Pauline, to whom he was married for 58 years; his daughter Georgia Ververis and her husband Michael of Medford and his son Daniel Karavakis and his wife Anna of Burlington. He also leaves behind his loving granddaughter Polixeni as well as Pauline and Chrisanthi.

He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Georgia Karavakis and his siblings George Karavakis and Aggeliki Smirnis.

He also leaves behind many relatives and friends here and in Greece.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church in Somerville, MA at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theodore’s memory to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church in Somerville, MA.

Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, MA.
