Theodore Anastos, of Cambridge, at age 94, died at home on April 6, 2015, after eleven and a half years of care by dedicated primary caregiver Valerie Lewis, with the help of many other caregivers. Son of the late John H. Anastos and Vasso (Manolopoulou) Anastos. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Dr. Maximi Bournia Anastos. Cherished brother of Angelica A. Baimas of Hingham and Takis Anastos of Deltona, Florida, as well as the late Elaine A. Crosby and Maria A. Doukas. Loving, attentive, and endlessly entertaining uncle and mentor to many nieces and nephews, and great-uncle to their children. Proud graduate of Cambridge public schools, Harvard College, and Harvard Law School. Before private practice as an attorney in the Boston area, served as an economist at the War Labor Board and an attorney with the Public Housing Administration in Washington, DC and in Boston. Many years of civic service, including past President of the Cambridge Zoning Board, involvement in local and state Democratic party politics, and adviser and director at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. Supported and participated in many cultural and charitable organizations, including board membership at The Greek Institute in Cambridge. Long-time member of the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church in Watertown. Visitation at the Taxiarchae Church on Monday, April 13 at 10 AM, followed by funeral at 11 AM. Interment at Cambridge Cemetery.
