Stavros Athanasiadis, 91, of Watertown, MA, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Katerini, Greece, to the late Ioannis and Despina (Kazatzoglou) Athanasiadis.

He came to the United States in 1979 at the age of 46 with his wife, Ekaterini, and their family. They resided in Belmont, MA. He worked at Jimmy's Harborside in Boston, MA, until his retirement. In 1985, they purchased a home of their own and moved to Watertown, MA.

Stavros loved spending time with his family. He adored his pets, especially his late dogs, Mia, Max and Zoe.

Beloved husband of Ekaterini (Dimitriadou) Athanasiadou. Devoted father of Ioannis Athanasiadis, Nikolaos Athanasiadis and his wife Peristera, and Despina Athanasiadou. Father-in-law of the late Katherine Athanasiadou. Loving Papou (Grandfather) of Katerina Athanasiadou Serra-Jovenich and her husband Alex, Victoria Figueroa Lazokitsiou and her husband Dionysis, Elizabeth Athanasiadou, and Stavros Athanasiadis, and Great-grandfather of Sophia Serra-Jovenich. Brother of Parthena Mouratidou. Also survived by his two dogs, Lucky and Popi, and many relatives and friends here and in Greece.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 10 AM at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, MA. Visitation prior to the service will be held from 9 AM to 10 AM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the above-named church or to FRIENDS Down Syndrome Special Needs ,12704 Barrett Drive Tampa, FL 33624. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown, MA.
