Sofia Savides peacefully passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 in her home in Arlington, Massachusetts. Sofia was born in Krasnodar, Russia in 1929. She immigrated to Greece in 1939. In 1951 she married her beloved husband Savvas Savides. They immigrated to the United States in 1964 with their three daughters Eleni, Parthena and Fotini.

Sofia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter and friend who was adored and cherished by everyone who knew her. She had four daughters Helen Mezes and her late husband Dimitrios, Parthena Bratsis and her husband George, Fotini Savides and her husband Efstathios Tranxidis and Theodora Eliopoulous and her husband Nicholas. She had seven grandchildren; Apostolia, Apostoli, Savvas, Niko, Kosta, Yianni and Sophia as well as three great grandchildren; Dalia, Dimitrios and Gianna. Sofia's legacy is one that will be cherished by many and her memory will forever be eternal.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022 in the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 15 Union Park St., Boston, MA at 12 noon. A brief visitation will be held in the church prior to the funeral services from 11-12 pm. Burial in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery , Arlington, MA.
