Rose (Politakis), 95, of Newton, MA formerly of Brighton, MA, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2022. Rose was born in Myrina, Limnos, Greece.  Daughter of the late George and Despina Politakis.  Beloved wife of the late Nestoras Apodiakos. Beloved mother Nicholas Apodiakos, and George Apodiakos and his wife Anthoula. Loving Yiayia of Nestoras and Demetri Apodiakos.  Also survived by many relatives and friends here and in Greece.  Rose's Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Church, 14 Magazine St., Cambridge, MA at 11:00AM. Visitation prior to the Service from 9AM to 11AM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the above named church. Burial in Newton Cemetery.

My Mother Rose Apodiakos came from Myrina, Greece with my late father Nestoras Apodiakos in the 1950's. They arrived by boat after a 17 day journey from Greece to New York City.  My parents lived in New York for 3 years and during that time she gave birth to me. We later moved to Somerville, Massachusetts where we lived for 3 years and from there we settled in Brighton for the remainder of her life.  My mom helped my brother and I growing up with school and church.  She was a very dedicated mother to us in whatever we did growing up.  My mom worked at Boston College for many years. She was very well respected there for her dedication to working, she described her work there as a second "home" and  B.C. was like a family to her. My memory of my mom is a very loving, caring and dedicated woman who achieved all she could for her family.  May God keep her comfortable in heaven and provide her all the beautiful things heaven has to offer.
