Phillip Dres, 62, of Somerville, MA passed away peacefully on July 17, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Somerville, MA. He is survived by his beloved wife Charlene (Buonomo) Dres. Loving son of the late Ioannis and Panagiota "Toula" (Sarmatzis) Dres. Devoted father of Stephanie Toula Dres and her partner Steffen Perico, and John Phillip Dres and his partner Charlene Milheirao.  Cherished Papou of Alana Rose Dres and John Armando, Jr.  Brother of Anastasios Dres and his wife Regina, and James Dres and his wife Maria. He was godfather to Peter Dres. He was also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was co-owner of Andy's Diner in Cambridge, MA since 1989 and Newton Corner House of Pizza In Watertown, MA.

When he was not working he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was a devout Orthodox Christian and had served as Parish Council President at his beloved Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Somerville, MA. When he was not at work, he could always be found at the church. His passion was organizing the annual Grecian festival which was a major fund raiser at the church.  He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and customers.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central Street, Somerville, MA at 11:30AM.  Visitation prior to the funeral service will begin at 10:00Am to 11:30AM at the church.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the above named church or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD  21741.

At the request of the family, burial will be held privately.
