Petros S.
Polyzos
March 21, 2026
Petros S. Polyzos, 88, of Dedham, MA, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Frederica Polyzos, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. He was a loving father to Eleonora Efstratoudakis and her husband Stefanos, and Christina Polyzos and her husband Themi Tahmazidis. He was a cherished Pappou to Erica Efstratoudakis and her husband Anastasios Amoratis, Constantinos Efstratoudakis and his wife Alexandra Koch, and Petros Efstratoudakis, and a proud great-grandfather to Achilleas Amoratis and Daphne Efstratoudakis. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends throughout the United States and Greece.
Petros was born in Epiros, Greece, to Spyros and Eleonora Polyzos. After earning his degree in economics from the University of Athens, he came to Boston in 1963, where he met and soon married the love of his life, Frederica.
Petros and Frederica shared a deep and enduring partnership, building a strong and lasting foundation for their family. They lived a full life together with much love, mutual respect, and support for one another.
A successful entrepreneur known for his integrity, he built a life grounded in hard work and purpose. He was deeply committed to his family, working tirelessly to ensure his children received a strong education while remaining closely connected to their Greek heritage. He adored his daughters, Eleonora and Christina, and sent them to Greece every summer to live with family, fostering in them a lasting bond with their roots.
He had a vibrant personality, marked by humor, genuine kindness, and a deep love of life. His generous spirit touched all who knew him. He loved his friends and took great joy in sharing his passions—music, dance, food—and, above all, the rich culture of his homeland. He travelled often with his wife, family, and friends, especially cherishing his visits back to Greece. He also enjoyed exploring destinations across Europe, the United States, and the Caribbean.
A life well-lived, a heart well-loved, Petros created a rich legacy of family, laughter, and enduring connections. Though he has passed from this world, he leaves behind a lasting imprint on all who were fortunate to know him. May his memory be eternal.
