Obituary

On Sunday morning my family suffered a devastating loss from the sudden death of my dad. He was the frame of our family portrait. A great man who would walk through fire for his wife, 3 sons, 5 daughters, 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He loved everyone of us unconditionally. His face would light up when anyone of his children or grandchildren would walk through his front door. No matter what your age, you enjoyed his company. A personality that could not be matched. Whether we called to say we were coming by for 5 minutes or "let's have a party" he was ready. All he needed was his grill and a bottle of Ouzo and we were making history. He never forgot where he came from and cherished his brothers and sisters. My mother, Suzanne, was the love of his life and when they looked at each other they were like two kids with fireworks in the sky. They loved spending time and traveling with their 4 close friends. He never complained. He didn't even want mom to tell us if he had a cold. I guess his way of leaving was perfect. He was the strong one who comforted us in sad times. My son misses his Papou terribly. He loved to watch him play hockey. No game was too early, too far or too cold! He will watch from heaven with Greg. My dad lived every day to the fullest. My parents opened Odyssey Travel and Odyssey Gift Shop. When my maternal grandfather became ill, my father took over his Greek radio program, The Athenian Hour and nick named it Ligo Apo Olla. He was a true Samaritan. He loved life and never waisted a minute. He did not die a rich man, but lived a rich life! Rest in peace! A loving and kind man who will be truly missed.
