Penelope Saropoulos, born June 2,1937, in Trigonas, Plomari, Mitilini, Greece, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 30, 2024.

Penelope was one of three daughters to the late George Geragotelis and Sophia (Barbagianni) Geragotellis. She was a talented cook and a gifted seamstress, who migrated to Boston, MA in 1971 with her husband and two children. After working and raising their children in the States, she and her husband returned to their roots in Greece, where they continued working on their olive groves to produce extra virgin olive oil. She found great joy in producing her family's olive oil, and even more so, in the time she shared with her husband of 63 years on their cherished Tsipouri.

Penelope treasured her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, many of whom she is survived by, including her beloved husband Efstratios Demetrios Saropoulos; her two sons: James Saropoulos and his wife Anna (Theodosiadou) Saropoulos of Somerville, MA, and George Saropoulos and his wife Anna Maria H Saropoulos of Somerville, MA; her four grandchildren: Christina Kakambouras and her husband Alex Kakambouras of Somerville, MA, Stratos Saropoulos of Westbrook, ME, Sophia Dres and her husband George Dres of Reading, MA, and Jamie Saropoulos and her husband Rob Holler of Wakefield, MA; her three great-grandchildren: Anna Kakambouras, Clio Dres, and Giorgia Dres; her eldest sister Eirini Geragotellis Kavarnou (and her late husband Emmanuel Kavarnos); her brother-in-law George Saropoulos (and his late wife Evangelia Trigenis Saropoulos); and many more loving relatives in the United States and Greece.

She was preceded by late sister Mirsini Geragotellis Stamatellis and her late husband Emmanuel Stamatellis; her late sister-in-law Penelope Saropoulos Kostelis and her late husband Fr. Ioannis Kostelis;  her late sister-in-law Maria Saropoulos Zaloumis and her late husband Emmanuel Zaloumis; her late sister-in-law Arxontoula Saropoulos Kostantakellis and her late husband George Kostantakellis; her late brother-in-law Emmanuel Saropoulos and his late wife Demetra Tsamouras Saropoulos; and her late sister-in-law Eirini Saropoulos Koustomiris and her late husband George Koustomiris.

Funeral services on Wednesday, January 8,2025 at 11:00 AM at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central St., Somerville, MA. Visitation prior to the funeral service in the church from 10:00 am to 11:00 AM. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA. A memorial luncheon will follow immediately after the burial.
