Presbytera Penelope (Manekas) Metaxas, of Watertown, Mass., passed away on April 25, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Fr. Emmanuel S. Metaxas. Devoted mother of Stanley Metaxas and his wife Joyce, Margaret Armstrong and her husband Russell, and Stella Metaxas of Watertown, MA. Loving grandmother of James Metaxas and his wife Carolyn, Kimberley Metaxas Hover and her husband Shawn, and Michael Metaxas. Great grandmother of Nicholas and Antonio Metaxas. Sister of Steve Manekas and his wife Doris, and the late James Manekas and his late wife Helen. Sister in law of Glafira Karalexis and the late Rev. James Karalexis and the late Kiki Metaxas. Also survived by many relatives and friends here and in Greece. She was a devoted wife, mother, and parishioner of the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church in Watertown, Mass. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 12 Noon at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave., Watertown, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church from 3PM to 8PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the above named church. Burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
