Pauline
Mastorakos
April 18, 1937 – February 17, 2022
Pauline (Rondos) Mastorakos of Arlington, MA, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022, at the age of 84, after a brief illness. She was born in Skala, Laconia, Greece to Spyros and Georgia Rondos.
Pauline emigrated from Greece to Montreal, Canada in the late 1950s, where she lived with her brother Dimitrios and his wife Aphrodite. She helped take care of their young children and became like a second mother to them. Like many immigrants during those years, the extended family lived together. In one of her first jobs, she worked as a seamstress. She loved sewing well into her late years. In 1959 she married the love of her life, Demitrios Mastorakos. They went on to have two children, Sandra and Alex. In 1967 they moved to the United States first settling in Watertown, Massachusetts, and later moved to Arlington, Massachusetts where she lived up until her death.
Pauline truly had a love for life and was always with friends and family enjoying the simple pleasures. After a fulfilling career both in and out of the home, she enjoyed a long retirement spending summers in Greece and enjoying time with family and friends. She was a social butterfly who was always surrounded by love. Pauline was a sweet soul and bright light to everyone she met. She adored her grandchildren and little dog, Hector. She was an amazing cook and baker who showed her love through cooking. No matter how full you were, you had to say yes when she offered you food. In earlier years, she was devoted to her church, always willing to lend a hand and help where she could. She was a member of philoptochos where she made several close friends who were by her side up until the end of her life.
Pauline is survived by her daughter Sandra Mastorakos and her husband Phil Mooney of Lexington, son Alex Mastorakos and his wife Lisa of Littleton. She was a proud YiaYia to Irene and her husband Hunter, Olivia, Maria, Christine and her husband Matt, Philip, Andrew, and his fiancée Micaela and her beloved dog, Hector. Pauline is predeceased by her late husband of 61 years Demitrios Mastorakos, loving sister of Panayiotis Rondos of Greece, the late George Rondos of Greece, and the late Dimitrios Rondos of Canada. Survived by sisters-in-laws Tula Lambros, Eleni Demos, and Dina Mastorakos. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends here and in Greece. She will be deeply missed by all.
