Paul Winik's Obituary

Paul Winik of the husband and wife dance team Paul Winik and the late Edna Mae,died on Sunday,October 5 in Boston after a brief illness. He was 82. He and his late wife began their act during the big band era and were pioneer performers during the early days of television. They were popular in the Boston Night Club Circuit as well as the rest of the nation, having played all the famous clubs of Boston during the 40's and 50's. He and his late wife traveled with such bands as Alvino Rey, The King Sisters, Wood Herman, Tommy Tucker, Shep Fields and Frankie Carle. The duo also appeared on many stages overseas during World War II, at the Palace Theatre:and on television in Georgie Jessel's ''Showtime'' and Ed Sullivan's ''Toast of the Town''. He was a former vice president and general manager of Fay Foto, Inc. of Boston. Most recently owner of Paul Winik Photography of Boston before retiring to Sun City Center, Florida. He was the beloved father of LInda Winik of Hyde Park and Lisa and her husband Mark. Loving grandfather of Michael, Matthew and Mark. Also survived by one Great Grandson, Jonathan. He is also survived by many nieces,nephews and relatives. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. His parents were the late Mr. & Mrs. Solomon Winik.
Services will be held at 10am on Thursday, October 9 at the Faggas Funeral Home,551 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
