Panagiota "Pauline"
Tsoutsanis
April 28, 1933 – October 20, 2023
Panagiota "Pauline" Tsoutsanis of Walpole MA, beloved wife of the late Andreas "Andrew" Tsoutsanis, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the age of 90.
Panagiota, known to many as Pauline was affectionately addressed as "Giota" by family and close friends. Born Panagiota Alexopoulos in 1933 in the small village of Garea, just outside Tripoli, Greece, she was the fourth and youngest child of Dimitrios and Politimi Alexopoulos, growing up with her siblings Nikolaos Alexopoulos, Ioanna Alexopoulos (later Tsipianitipoulos) and her recently deceased brother, Charles D. Alex, her dearest and closest sibling.
She emigrated from Greece in 1958 and once eligible, she became a Naturalized U.S. Citizen. Panagiota worked very hard as a newcomer immigrant to the U.S. in order to support herself. Many can still attest to her extremely strong will and ability to accomplish anything she put her mind to. Her earliest employment as a single, young woman, on her own, in the Greater Boston Area was as a production worker for Stride Rite Shoes, excelling in her various jobs there.
Panagiota married Andreas "Andrew" Tsoutsanis in 1961 - her husband of 59 years until his death in 2020. Together they worked very hard at pursuing the American Dream, yet all the while holding tight and remaining proud of their Greek heritage. She and Andreas also worked extremely well professionally. Together they owned and operated various diners, coffee shops and pizzerias throughout the years.
Panagiota was also exceptionally known for her warm, loving, and gracious nature. Along with Andreas, she loved entertaining and hosting parties and holiday gatherings at their waterfront home in North Walpole MA, situated on Willett (aka New) Pond. She, unquestionably, was the unsurpassable cook and hostess.
She and Andreas started their retirement in "installments". They first moved to the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts and began semi-retirement - but later moved to the Tampa Bay Area of Florida's west coast: Clearwater Beach. There they enjoyed their golden years and amassed countless new friends and acquaintances they soon considered to be family.
After the death of her husband, Andreas in 2020, Panagiota soon moved back to Massachusetts. She is survived by her only child, Arthur, along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends in Massachusetts, Florida and other states throughout the U.S.
Services: Per her request, funeral services will be private.
