It is with great sadness that we announce the repose of our sweet father Nikolai Polorotoff.

He passed away in Brookline Massachusetts at the Holy Transfiguration Monastery where he resided on February 8, 2026 at the age of 69.

Nikolai was born in a rural village in China in 1956 to Alexander and Anna Polorotoff. He immigrated to Australia at the age of six. He immigrated to the United States in 1980 to study theology at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York.

Nikolai worked as a highly skilled carpenter, particularly talented at wood work and dry wall. He would often build furniture for his family, and would provide a variety of carpentry services for churches and monasteries over the years. Nikolai was a loving father, and enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping, reading, and building things.

He is survived by his former wife Lubov Isak, the mother to his children Xenia Barbato and Panteleimon Polorotoff; former wife Sophie Constandaki, mother to his son Eugene Constandaki; grandchildren Kalisa, Kira and Roman Barbato; siblings Alla, Ilia, Valentina and John, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nikolai was predeceased by his parents, brother Panteleimon, and sisters Irene and Polyxenia.

Viewing will precede the funeral service on February 18, 2026 at Holy Transfiguration Monastery, 278 Warren St, Brookline, MA 02445. The funeral service will begin at 01:00 pm. Burial service to follow at 01:00 pm on February 19, 2026 at Holy Trinity Monastery 1407 Robinson Rd, Jordanville, NY 13361.
