Nicholas J. Zevitas

(February 14, 1927 – July 3, 2025

Nicholas J. Zevitas, 98 of Arlington, Massachusetts peacefully passed away at his home on July 3, 2025. Born in Pavlia, Greece, his family immigrated to America in 1928, and he grew up in the city of Dorchester. He was the beloved husband of 74 years to the late Jennie (Meleones) Zevitas, and the devoted father of Charles Zevitas and his wife Cathleen Ofria, Elaine Antonopoulos and her husband Apostolos, and Katherine Colgan and her late husband Paul.

Nicholas was Papou to Renee Ingalls and her husband Stephen, Sandra Calder and her companion Cory Larson, Miltiades Antonopoulos and his wife Ashley, Alexander Antonopoulos, and John Antonopoulos and his wife Alyssa. Additionally, he was Great Papou of Matthew Ingalls, Kristina Antonopoulos, Teddy Colgan, Apostolos Antonopoulos, Sophia Antonopoulos, Paul Colgan, Nicholas Antonopoulos and Lukas Antonopoulos.

He was the brother of the late George Zevitas and his late wife Katherine, the late Anthony Zevitas and wife Dorothea, and the late Sophia (Zevitas) Cokinos and her late husband George.

Nicholas is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was a veteran of the US Navy in WWII, a member and officer of the George Menichios American Legion Post, and was a past president and member of the St. Athanasius community.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11 AM at St Athanasius the Great, 4 Appleton Street, Arlington, MA. Visitation prior to the Service is from 9:30 to 11 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Athanasius the Great, Greek Orthodox Church.
