Nicholas Saledas, 94, a long time resident of Framingham, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on January 9 th , 2021 in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side. Devoted husband of Georgia (Nikolis) for nearly 60 years. Loving father of Louis Saledas and his wife Pamela, Marina Wouralis and her husband Daniel. Cherished Papou to Nikolas Saledas, his wife Eleni and their daughter Iliana, Christos Saledas and James Wouralis. Nicholas is also survived many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was born to Ilias and Marina (Mihopoulos) Saledas on August 20, 1926 in the village of Vassara, in Sparta, Greece. He was predeceased by his siblings, George, Ekaterina, Christofile and Eleni. He left Vassara at the age 18 for Athens, Greece where he learned the art of tailoring. In 1958, he immigrated to the United States, living in both Greenfield and Boston Massachusetts. He worked in various factories and clothing stores in the Boston area while providing for his family back in Greece. He returned to Greece, met and married the love of his life, Georgia, in 1961. They both immigrated to Boston, where they began their life together and were blessed with two children. Nicholas started his own tailor shop in Framingham, Massachusetts and shortly thereafter he settled his family there as well. Nicholas and Georgia worked side by side for over 30 years in their tailor shop.
Nicholas enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially to Cape Cod and Aruba. He loved being with his family and sharing time together, especially time spent with his grandsons, which kept him young at heart and brought him so much joy. He will always be remembered for his love of family and love of life.
As a result of the current health crisis in our world today, there are restrictions for the visitation and funeral service, held on Wednesday, January 13 th , 2021, at St. Demetrios Orthodox Church, 57 Brown Street, Weston, Massachusetts, 02493. Visitation is from 9AM to 10AM and is open to all. The funeral service is at 10AM and is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Demetrios Orthodox Church, 57 Brown Street, Weston, Massachusetts, 02493.
