Obituary

It is with profound sorrow, yet with unwavering hope in the Resurrection, that we inform you of the passing of Nicholas Patellis, aged 90, on May 4, 2026, in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, surrounded by his devoted family. He was born in Clairton, Pennsylvania, to Demothenes and Irene (Alevrofas) Patellis of Kalymnos, Greece. He married Lillian Georgieff in 1959 and subsequently relocated to California. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Slippery Rock Teachers College in Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts in Education Administration from California State University, Los Angeles. He served his country honorably in the United States Army National Guard from 1963 to 1967. Nicholas dedicated many years to teaching primary and secondary education in Redondo Beach and Dana Point, California.

He and his wife resided in Southern California for 57 years and, in 2016, relocated to Massachusetts.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, his parents, and his three siblings—Pantelis Patellis, Mary Koroulakis, and Nomikos Patellis. He is survived by his daughters, Yvonne (Gregory) Noneman and Presvytera Vicki (Fr Ted) Toppses; his two granddaughters, Nicole and Julianna; his sister, Androniki Alahouzos; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

May God grant eternal rest to Nicholas and may He bestow upon his family comfort, strength, and hope through the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. May his memory be eternal! Christ is Risen!

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 at St. Gregory Greek Orthodox Church, 1007 West Street, Mansfield, MA at 11AM.  There will be a brief visitation prior to the Funeral Service at the church from 10:30AM to 11AM.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  In lieu of flowers, donations should be offered to St. Gregory Greek Orthodox Church, Mansfield, MA.

Interment immediately following the Funeral Service at The Gardens Cemetery, 670 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.
