Nicholas J. Meleones, 87, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of South Weymouth, Mass., died on June 11, 2011. He was the devoted husband of Pearl (Marzakis) Meleones for 57 years, loving father of James Meleones and his wife Eva of Charlotte, NC, and Peter Meleones and his wife Tara, of Long Beach, MS, brother of Denna Magos of Newton, MA, Jennie Zevitas of Arlington, MA, and Rita Zervos of Everett, MA. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas and sister Jeanette. He is also survived by three loving grandchildren, Nicholas, Allison and Erin. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII for three years. He was a graduate of Keene State College and Boston University. He was a well-known educator for 35 years at Appleton Academy in New Ipswich, NH, Hingham, MA High School, and for many years with the Hull, MA school system serving as Assistant Principal, Principal, and Assistant Superintendant until retiring in 1982. Funeral Services on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11am in the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, Mass. Visitation prior to funeral service in the church from 9:30 to 11am.
