Obituary

Nicholas James Spaneas, 94, died on April 12, 2011. He was the husband of Kay (Katsarakes) Spaneas. Born in Lowell, the son of Demitrios and Kanella Spaneas. He was a founding member of The Hellenic Square & Compass in the 1950's, a member of Ahepa and a proud Mason. He was a member of St. Athanasius Church. Mr. Spaneas joined Easter Airlines and travelled the world with his wife. He was a proprietor of the Windsor Mills Restaurant & Banquet Hall in Dracut for over 35 years hosting many community events. Besides his wife of 67 years, he is survived by his children, Irene Bland and her husband Bruce of Boulder, CO and Karen and William Stewart of Cape Cod, his grandchildren, Gregory, Douglas and Jefferey Bland, his sibling Stephen Spencer and wife Helen of Larchmont, NY and many other family members. He is predeceased by his brother George Spaneas and two sister, Effie Michaud and Stella Maraganis.
