Nicholas "Nick" Dovinos's Obituary

Nicholas “Nick” Dovinos, 84, of Quincy, MA passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026. Born in Athens, Greece, beloved son of the late Konstantinos and Maria Dovinos.

Nick grew up grew surrounded by family and relatives in the beautiful countryside of Greece, where he developed the strong values of loyalty, generosity,

and devotion to family that would define his life. He proudly served in the Greek Air Force before immigrating to the United States in the mid 1960’s in pursuit of the opportunity and a better future.

After arriving in America, Nick worked in his family business, and later in his career was employed in the financial services sector. He carried himself with quiet dignity and a strong work ethic throughout his personal and professional life.

Nick and Phyllis enjoyed traveling and visited many destinations together throughout the years.

Known for his boundless generosity, Nick was the kind of man who would always help others in need. He was endlessly social and treasured his daily gatherings with friends where stories were shared and laughter was abundant, and cards were often played. His warmth, humor and steadfast love for his family and friends will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his devoted soul mate Phyllis. Dear brother of Roula Hunter. Loving uncle of Nicholas Hunter and his wife Julie, Dr. William Hunter and his wife Karen, Marie Hunter Frazier and her husband Sean. Brother in law of the late Dr. William N. Hunter. Also survived by many relatives and friends here and in Greece.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 11AM to 12Noon at the Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown, MA followed by the Funeral Service at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, MA at 12:30PM followed by Services 1PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the above named church.

Burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA.
