Obituary

Modesto Vasquez of East Boston, formerly of Jamaica Plain, MA died Sunday, September 13, 2009. He was 74. Modesto was born on June 15, 1935, in Valparaiso, Chile. He married Luz Eliana Palma and lived in San Felipe, Chile for many years until coming to the United States in 1970. He is a retired banquet manager of Sage Hotels, a former tenor of the San Felipe Polyphonic Chorus, he was an avid billiards and chess player. He loved hunting and fishing. He worked as a Banquet Manager for Sage Hotels in Cambridge. He leaves behind his wife Eliana and their five children, Laura Vasquez and her husband Waldo Parra, Monica Vasquez, Rossanna Vasquez, all of San Felipe, Chile, Victor Vasquez and his wife Paula Shelly, Aldo Vasquez and his wife Giselle Boucher . He is the cherished grandfather of twelve grandchildren and has several nieces and nephews.
