Mina Velloo Kuttie, of Brookline, MA, formerly of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2021. Born in Penang, Malaysia (November 6th, 1947), she grew up in a household of strong independent women which inspired her to train as a nurse in Sabah, and then London, UK. She met her late husband, Veerapen Muthu Kannu (1935-2018) while taking care of his late father in Penang, Malaysia where their love was an everlasting love that transcended space and time. They built their lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with their 2 sons, Muthu Kannu Veerapen, and Dr Kumar Veerapen, along with their 2 daughters Buffy Jean Veerapen (1999-2014) and Patch Marie Veerapen. Muthu is married to Sonia Chee Swee Lian and has 2 children: Steve Sanjay Chee-Veerapen and Oleanna Omysha Chee-Veerapen. Being a woman that was easy going, in 2019, she and her daughter (Patch) moved to be with her son, Kumar, in Boston. It was in Boston that her friends and family really saw how happy she was. Frequently, you would have seen her and Patch visiting local Brookline and Milford (CT) parks and gardens and were almost always greeted with a smile and a warm greeting. She lived her best life surrounded by friends and adopted families. As we mourn for the loss of our beloved Mina, we can also choose to celebrate her life. Mina would have loved it if her people would wave goodbye to her as she returns to God and to be at the side of her beloved husband again. Funeral Service will take place at 10:00AM at The Bigelow Chapel at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mt. Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA  02138.
