Mihail (Michael)
Stratakis
August 5, 1950 – July 17, 2025
Michael Stratakis, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born in Thrapsanó, Crete, Greece, Michael brought the richness of his Cretan heritage with him wherever he went. He was the devoted husband of the late Katie Stratakis, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Michael was known for his joyful spirit and unforgettable sense of humor. Often the life of the party, his happiness was truly contagious. He loved
to laugh—and his booming, infectious laugh could light up any room. He had a deep love for music and dancing, especially traditional Cretan dances, and never missed a chance to share his culture and joy with others.
Michael had a true gift for connecting with people. As the proud owner of the former My Brother's Place pizza shop in Arlington, he served more than just great food—he served his community with kindness, warmth, and heart. His customers quickly became friends, and his restaurant became a gathering place for many.
He also had a lifelong passion for pottery, a craft tied to his Cretan roots, and a deep devotion to his family, who meant everything to him.
Michael is survived by his two loving children, Emmanuel Stratakis and Stella Stratakis; his brother George Stratakis and his late wife Rodanthi; his sister Kostantina and her husband Vaggelis Braouzos; many beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many cherished nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Katie Stratakis; his sister Yianna and her husband George Tsakalofidis; and his parents, Emmanuel and Styliani Stratakis.
Michael will be remembered for his boundless joy, his generous heart, and a laugh that will never be forgotten.
