Dalaklis, Menelaos C. (Mel) of Belmont, 81 Passed away peacefully after a brief illness.  Beloved husband of Tanya H. (Elbag) Dalaklis.  Devoted Father of Stephen C. Dalaklis and his wife Isabell of Bedford, and Mark G. Dalaklis of Acton. Devoted Papou to Andrew, Melanie, Katharine and Loukas.  Loving brother to the late Mary C. Carafotes and her husband Charles of Somerville, Fotios C. (Frank) Dalaklis and his surviving wife Elaine of Belmont. The late Arthur V. Morley and his surviving wife Sandra of Mashpee and Dennis Elbag and his wife Nancy of Watertown.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mel was a member of the St. Athanasius "The Great" Greek Orthodox Church of Arlington for more than 40 years, having served as its President, Treasurer and Parish Council for many years.  Additionally, he served as the Grand Master of the Boston Chapter of Free Masons Lodge.  He began working as a stock boy for a fastener distributor in the 1960s exhibiting great ambition and advancing to a sales position shortly after.  In a move that would define his life he left in 1972 to purchase a competitor (G.R. Armstrong Inc.)  and another in 1982 (Lehigh-Metal Products) creating today's Lehigh-Armstrong Inc. Both sons eventually joined their father in the family business after college, contributing to decades of shared success.  Mel's passions and interests included family, his precious lifelong friends from his Somerville roots, summering and boating in Popponessett Cape Cod, and most recently "snow birding" in Lauderdale By the Sea, Florida with his beloved Tanya.   Visiting hours will be from 10-11:30AM with a Funeral service at 11:30AM on Saturday January 4th at St. Athanasius The Great Greek Orthodox Church, 4 Appleton St., Arlington, MA.  Burial to follow at Highland Meadow Cemetery, 700 Concord Avenue, Belmont.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the above church or The Dormition of the Virgin Mary, 29 Central Street, Somerville, MA 02143
