Maurice E. "Mo" Kidd II, 51, of Bridgton, Maine, entered eternal rest on April 16,2022 after battling a hard fought illness, with his loving family by his side. The beloved husband of Laurie (Boyce) Kidd for 20 years. Loving father to Ethan and bonus children Ashley and Chris. Proud, doting Papa to Kohen, Alex, Marleia, Cooper, Jarrett, CJ and special nieces Brittni and Sabrie.
Mo was born in Ohio on April 25, 1970 to Maurice E. Kidd and the late Marilyn Tackett. Mo is one of three children with a sister Michelle and a brother Ray Tackett. After graduating high school in 1988 from CAHS Mars Hill, Maine, he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country as a Gunner/Squad Leader on a Bradley Tank in the first Iraq War, Operation Desert Storm along with many other accomplishments during his service. In 1993 he moved back to the country and while working for McCain foods in Easton, he put himself through school and in 2002 he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Husson College. In 2003, Mo and Laurie then moved to Southern Maine where he started his 17 year career at Poland Spring as a Production Supervisor and worked his way up to a factory controller until his illness in 2020.
Mo leaves behind his adoring mother-in-law Bea Boyce who he had great admiration for, four sisters-in-law; Tina and Mark McGowan of Gorham, Lisa and Rene Menard of Saco, Michelle and Mike Barber of Oklahoma, Denise Boyce and her fiance Mark Kiesman of Otisfield, Maine. A special Uncle and Aunt Jearold and Sue Kidd of Ohio and many relatives and friends.
Some of Mo's best times were spent with his (County Family) Best friends Kirk and Lorraine Jandreau and their huge loving family where he was Uncle Mo to their kids and Grandchildren. He spent his time camping, four wheeling, snowmobiling, grilling, smoking food and just spending time with family and friends. Mo was loved by many. He had a huge, generous heart and found great pleasure cooking and caring for those in his circle.
He was predeceased by his special father-in-law Al Boyce who he loved and cherished dearly. Laurie would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses from CMMC and the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston who took such good care of him throughout his illness.
Thank you to MDOC Family for all of their generous support through these many months along with many friends and family who have followed in Mo's journey with their prayers and kind words of support, It meant the world to Mo.
Burial will take place on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 37 Lombard Road, Caribou, Maine at 2PM. There will be a celebration of Mo's life on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 1PM to 4Pm at the American Legion, 26 Casco Road, Naples, Maine 04055.
