Mary Stathos Lynch,98, of South Yarmouth and Cambridge, MA. died peacefully on January 20, 2013 at Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham, MA. Mary was employed by The Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Executive Office for Administration and Finance. She was very active in the Greek church in both Cambridge and Centerville, MA. Her parents, Panagiota and Anthony Stathopoulos, emigrated from Greece to America in the early 1900's and settled in Cambridge, MA where, her father, Anthony, was one of the founders of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox church. Mary was an ardent cook, gardener, and enthusiastic world traveler and was dearly loved by her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert A. Lynch. She is survived by two brothers, Charles of Lincoln, MA and John of Charlottesville, VA as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A funeral will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. George Greek Orthodox church, 1130 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632 at 10:30am. There will be a brief visitation from 10am to 10:30 in the church. Interment will follow the service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, where her husband Robert, a WWII Veteran is laid to rest.
