Maria Touliopoulos (March 7,1937-March 2, 2025)

On the morning of Sunday, the 2nd of March 2025, Maria  Touliopoulos passed away in her sleep in her home of 63 years in West Roxbury, MA, where she lived together with her family. She was born in Koryfi, Greece and immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts in 1962, with her husband, John. Sadly, she was widowed in1970.

Maria was devoted to her three children and was incredibly hardworking throughout her life. She enjoyed her work as a hairdresser for many years. She loved cooking Greek food for family and friends. Greek hospitality, philoxenia, was an important part of her life. Any visitor to her home would be welcomed with a table full of food, Greek coffee and animated conversation. Maria was also passionate about flowers, plants and gardening. She had an amazing green thumb and her gardens were admired by all.

She is survived by her children, Paula (Michael), Steven (Nadja) and Paul Touliopoulos, four grandchildren, Alessandra, Arianna, James and Khalil, her brothers, Stefanos (Eva) and Lazarus, and many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will take place at 11AM on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, MA. Visitation prior to the Funeral Service will take place at the church from 10:30AM –11 AM. The burial will take place at the Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Avenue, Boston, MA.
