Maria (Athanasaidis) Gizanis, of Watertown, Massachusetts, passed away on December 17, 2016. Beloved wife of Vasilios Gizanis. Devoted mother of Eleni Stefanides and her husband John, Despina Gizani and her husband Harry Lambrou , Alexandra Housianitis and her husband Arthur, and Dimitra "Jamie" Gizanis. Loving yiayia of Ruth Stefanides, Mary Ellen Stefanides and her husband John Fortin, George Stefanides and Dimosthenis Vazakas. Great Yiayia of Isabela and Juliana Fortin. Loving sister of Stavros Athanasiadis and his wife Katina, and Parthena Mouratidis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Greece. Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 10AM at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave., Watertown, MA . Visitation prior to Service from 9AM to 10AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the above named church . Burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery
