Margaret A. “Peggie” (Chamberlain) Flynn, 84, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away on May 3, 2026.
Born on March 28, 1942, in Roxbury, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late William H. and Elizabeth A. (Just) Chamberlain.
Peggie retired from Harvard Law School, where she dedicated many years of service as an Administrative Assistant to the law professors. She was deeply respected for her professionalism and commitment throughout her career.
Outside of her full-time work, Peggie embraced life with wonder, energy and creativity. She was an extraordinarily talented ceramicistwhose beautiful, handcrafted pieces will be cherished by her family and friends for generations. Her love of travel brought her across the globe, visiting destinations such as Japan, Singapore, Egypt, Turkey, and numerous countries throughout Europe, creating lasting memories along the way.
Peggie was also deeply involved in her community, passionately advocating for causes close to her heart. She spent many years serving as the Arts and Crafts Coordinator at Dorchester House, and then later in life, she remained active as an enthusiastic member of their Senior Program. She dedicated many years to working at the voting polls as well.
Peggie was also a passionate lover of the arts. She found great joy in attending Broadway performances and exploring museums, with a special fondness for her favorite, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. She also loved music and dancing and could cut a rug like no other.
Above all, Peggie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Kirk W. Flynn and daughter-in-law Carina, and Craig Flynn and his wife Eileen. Her greatest pride and joy were her three grandchildren, Callie A. Flynn, Zachary W. Flynn, and Mia A. Flynn. “Grandma Peggie,” as she was lovingly known, poured boundless energy and affection into her grandchildren’s lives, sharing with them countless “adventures”—from nature hikes and museum visits to Broadway shows, cooking, and artistic pursuits.
Peggie was predeceased by her loving sister, Lorraine Mann and her husband George, and her brother, William Chamberlain and his wife Theresa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A celebration of Peggie’s life will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Mount Auburn Cemetery (Story Chapel), 580 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts, at 1:00 PM, followed by inurnment at 2:15 PM. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend and are encouraged to wear colorful attire in celebration of Peggie’s vibrant life.
