Magdaline  A.,"lovingly known as Magda", (Papageorgiou) Fotopoulos, 90, of Brookline, MA passed away on June 9, 2024. She was born in Pirgetos, Trikala, Greece, daughter of the late Athanasios and Maria (Alexiou) Papageorgiou.

Magdaline came to America in 1955 with her sister Connie and they settled with their uncle  in Lowell, MA.  She worked as a seamstress.  Magda met Anastasios in 1961 and they were married shortly after on November 18, 1961.  They lived in Allston, MA and started their family and moved to Brookline, MA where they raised their three children.

Magda traveled back to Greece with Anastasios for many years. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She cared for each of her grandchildren while their parents worked. She loved being a yiayia. She baked the best kourabiedes.  Magda was a devout Orthodox Christian. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Magda is survived by her beloved husband Anastasios Fotopoulos.  Devoted mother of Arthur Fotopoulos and his wife Vickie, Vicky Fotopoulos, and the late Nicholas Fotopoulos.

Loving yiayia of Troy Fotopoulos and his wife Nona, Stasius Fotopoulos, Lena Fotopoulos, Maya Fotopoulos, Natalia Fotopoulos, and Nick Diaz. Loving great yiayia of Sofia Fotopoulos.

Sister of the late John Papageorgiou and his late wife Eleni, the late Connie Antoniou and her late husband George, and the late Litsa Falaras and her late husband John

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Greece

Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 14 Magazine St., Cambridge, MA at 11AM.  Visitation prior to the Service from 9AM -11AM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. The church parking lot will not be available on Wednesday. Please use the Green Street Parking Garage, 260 Green St., Cambridge, MA which is located around the corner from the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the above named church

Burial in Walnut Hills Cemetery, 96 Grove St. Brookline, MA
