Lynne E. Georgian, 67, of Tiverton, RI passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025. Born and raised in Worcester, MA, daughter of Mary (Athas) Georgian of Worcester and the late John J. Georgian, sister to Stephen Georgian and his wife MaryAnn of East Brookfield, and John Georgian and his wife Sandy of Shrewsbury. She leaves her former husband Allan Cohen of Newton, daughter, Marisa (Cohen) Cheung and her husband Ben of Sudbury, two sons, Billy Cohen of Astoria, NY, Jonny Cohen of Astoria, NY, and two granddaughters Juliet and Laurel Cheung. Lynne was a beloved aunt to six nieces and nephews, two grand-nephews, and deeply connected to many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded by her brothers, James Georgian in 2024 and Christopher Georgian in 2015.

Lynne was a graduate of Lesley University with her masters in special education and administration. She spent her career teaching special education including many years in teaching and administration roles at Learning Prep School in Newton for students with complex learning needs, and in multiple elementary schools across Newton Public Schools in their REACH program which targeted specialized needs of students with language-based learning disabilities. Lynne was passionate about teaching and creating an educational environment that helped all students succeed. Beyond the classroom, Lynne enjoyed summers reading on the beach, tending to her garden, bird watching and attending local craft shows.

There will be a calling hour Tuesday, December 9, at 9 a.m. in Taxiarchae Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave, Watertown, followed by a funeral service at 10am. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery.
