Louis Sharpe,81, of Shenton,St.Catherine,Jamaica,West Indies. A man of character and strength.
He passed on July 5, 2007 in Kathleen Daniels Nursing Home, 646 Franklin St., Framingham, Mass.
He was born in Ewarton, Jamaica, WI, and lost his parents at a very young age. He was then raised by his Aunt Emeline Taylor in Bog Walk, St.Catherine, Jamaica, WI. In his youth, Louis held several jobs in Jamaica, from being a stone breaker in the town of Hyde, at Myers Jamaica Rum and a sand digger on River Road. His last job was at the Jamaica Citrus Company.
Louis was a avid swimmer and rafter. He was also a lover of fishing, farming and gardening.
He married Sylvena McKenzie who predeceased him in 2002. He had 8 children; Gilda Sharpe-Etteh of Natick, MA, Bauldy Sharpe of Miami, FL, Leslie Sharpe of Baltimore, MD, Arris Sharpe of Framingham, MA, Marcia Sharpe of Framingham, MA,
Lisa Sharpe of Jamaica, WI, Shana Sharpe of Jamaica, WI and the late Lennox Sharpe. He is also survived by his sisters,Mabel, Petrona, Carmen and the late Inez. He is survived by 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
