Lillian Nicholas
Patellis
May 10, 1937 – October 30, 2023
It is with great sadness but with hope in the Resurrection that we inform you of the passing of Lillian (Georgieff) Patellis, age 86, on October 30, 2023, in Plainville, Massachusetts surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Clairton, Pennsylvania to Evan and Pandora (Mirchieff) Georgieff. She graduated from Clairton High School and entered into the Nursing Program, first at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia and then at Mckeesport Hospital in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, she married her love, Nicholas Patellis, and then moved to California. There she began her lifelong career first in Public Health in Los Angeles and then in Occupational Health at both Smith Tool International and Parker Hannifin in Irvine, California.
She has touched so many lives throughout her 50+ years in nursing and was known for her generous heart, quick wit, and devotion to her family and friends. Her other passion was her outstanding baking, whether the Orthodox Christian sacramental bread for Divine Liturgy or her Pasta Flora dessert and her 21 varieties of Christmas cookies which she generously shared with family and friends throughout the country, she fed us all by her love.
Lillian was a very active member of the Orthodox Christian church; the past 7 years at St. Gregory The Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, Mansfield, Massachusetts, and 40 years at St Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Irvine, California.
She is survived by her beloved husband Nicholas of 64 years; her family, Yvonne and Gregory Noneman, and Presvytera Vicki and Fr Ted Toppses; her two granddaughters, Nicole and Julianna; many cousins, several nieces and nephews and myriads of friends.
May God grant eternal rest to Lillian and may He grant her family comfort, strength, and hope in the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. May her memory be eternal!
