Obituary

Leo J.H. Gendron, of Belmont passed away in his 78th year on November 25, 2016, surrounded by his family. Beloved Husband of Helen A. (Mackevic) Gendron. Loving Father of Dr. Robert Gendron (Dr. Helene Paradis) of St. John's NL and Pierre Gendron (Laura Chipley) of Queens NY. Predeceased by son Dr. David Gendron. Cherished Grandfather of Zoe, Axel, Sylvie and Tula Gendron. Brother of Betty McElligott. Also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and Friends. Leo was born in Montreal Quebec. After serving as a Pilot Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Leo received a BEng from McGill University, Montreal, followed by a MBA from Northeastern University, Boston. Leo spent a distinguished career at the executive level at several international level corporations, traveling the world many times to accomplish his work. More recently, Leo ran his own company as a private Management Consultant. Leo was an accomplished artist, painter, woodcarver, wooden boatmaker and builder. Leo was an avid kayaker in both fresh and saltwater. Leo also loved Downeast Maine and spent many happy times there hiking and exploring new trails with family and friends. Leo was an important member of the Belmont Republican Town Committee and served as Vice President and Co-Treasurer for the Board. Leo's talents, knowledge, accomplishments, courage and unmatched spirit for life will be sorely missed but hopefully emulated. Visiting hours on Friday , Dec. 16th from 4-8 p.m. in the Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, Ma. Funeral Mass on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at 9a.m. at Saint Luke's Parish, 132 Lexington St., Belmont, Ma. (Please go directly to church). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society.
