Kathleen "Kathy" D. Kaberides's Obituary

Kathleen D. (McCarthy) "Kathy" Kaberides  of Bridgewater passed away on May 23, 2024. Beloved wife of Theodore "Ted" Kaberides . Loving mother of Harry P. Kaberides & his wife Vasilike and Christine Minasidis & her husband George. Loving grandmother of Antonios Minasidis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Kathleen was born on October 10,1950 to John and Edna McCarthy. She was an only child but did love to spend time with her Aunt Dot 's children. She would meet a boy named Ted Kaberides who would sit behind her and pull on her pig tails in the 10th grade at Jamaica Plains High School. He would transfer in the 11th grade to Roslindale High School. By a chance meeting, she would meet him again in 1970 at a soccer club. They would go on to get married on June 25,1972. On March 29, 1973, she would have her son Harry. On May 14, 1977, she would have her daughter Christina.

In 1980, her husband and her would buy their first of many businesses – Arnold's fish store in Jamaica Plains. After a fire destroyed it, they would purchase the House of Pizza in Jamaica Plains. After years, they decided to swap pizza to make the donuts. They brought "Lovin from the Oven" in Mattapan. During this time the family would adopt a dog named Peanut. Peanut would constantly follow her around and lay down on the bed with her. Kathy was always giving her treats. When their children got older, they sold the donut store and took a break for 2 years.

After their break, they decided to take a shot at a convenience store in Brockton with their children – they named it CK Market. Kathy worked and loved to talk to customers unless you had lottery you had to wait for Ted. They would sometime come in just to talk to her. Kathy knew everything about everyone.  She loved to hear their stories. They would own the store until January 1, 2007, they retired to care for their mothers until their passings. Their son Harry would get married on June 10,2007 to his wife Vas. Their daughter Christina would get married on May 28th, 2017, to her husband George.

On February 2, 2020 – the light of her life would be born her grandson Antonios. She loved cuddling with him. She would enjoy the long car rides to go see him on Saturdays. She was excited about being a grandmother. She couldn't meet her own grandparents. Every time we talked about Antonios; you could hear the happiness in her voice. When I would tell her stories about him, she would say he is exactly like you were as a child.
