Katherine "Kay" Kondis's Obituary

Falling asleep in the Lord on Saturday, April 25 was Katherine (Kay) Kondis of North Andover, Massachusetts, formerly of Boston and Athens, Greece.

Kay was the beloved wife of the late George D. Kondis. She was predeceased by her parents, Haralambos and Maria (Papangelis) Geannacopoulos also predeceased by her two brothers, George and Zachary Gennis, as well as their wives Angeline and Marie.

She leaves her son and daughter-in-law Dimitri and Christine, whom she adored. Finally, she leaves many, many nieces and nephews to whom she will always be their favorite Aunty Kay.

Kay Kondis was a Boston University graduate and a proud Bostonian. She was also an American patriot. For twenty-five years she lived in Athens as a US civilian attached to JUSMAGG – The Joint United States Military Aid Group Greece, defending the Greek democracy against communism.

35 years ago when Kay moved back to Boston she once again became the center of family joy. As time went on she became the favorite aunt of a whole new generation of nieces and nephews. Each one loved and will always miss their Aunty Kay.

The funeral, which due to the current situation, will be private is through the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Andover. Christine and Dimitri also want to thank the terrific staff at Brightview North Andover, and the dedicated team from Hospice Services of Massachusetts, all of whom took such good care of Kay.

Memory Eternal Mom, and from so many, "We love and already miss you, Aunty Kay!"
