Kalliopi (Sampanis) Kakavoulis, 94, of Somerville, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her beloved husband John Kakavoulis; her children, Maria Thanopoulos and her husband Harris, Terry Kakavoulis and his wife Rose, and Eleni Kontis and her husband John.

She was the devoted Yiayia to John Kakavoulis , Katerina Thanopoulos, Alexandra Graciale and her husband Josh, Allexandra Kontis and Nikolas Kontis.  She was the beloved sister in law Christina Karogiannis and her husband George.  She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Greece.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central Street, Somerville, MA at 10AM.  Visting hours will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the Faggas Funeral Home, ,551 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown, MA from 5PM to 8PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the above named church.

Burial immediately following the funeral service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
