Julie (Petalas) Skope, 92, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Watertown, Mass, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 21, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Loving Mother of Georgia Hannagan & her husband Fred of Chelmsford, MA, Denise Vidalis of Woburn, MA, Ri Venuti & her husband Guy of San Diego, CA and 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grand child. She is also survived by her sister Alice Simcoe of Florida, Georgia Fromnecht of Virginia and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Julie is predeceased by her brothers, Paul, James and Anthony Petalas, and her sisters Angela Kyvelos and Christine Skolls. For over 25 years, Julie enjoyed the intricate and challenging work of an Assembly and Quality Control Supervisor, at Data Technology, Watertown, MA. She looked forward to bouncing each and every new grandchild, on her knee, while singing them a Greek Jingle. A bingo aficionado, Julie rarely missed her Monday night bingo, at the St. James Armenian church, and Thursday night at the Son's of Italy, where she looked forward to seeing her many long-time "bingo buddies". Funeral from the Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt. Auburn St.,Watertown, MA on Saturday, December 5 at 9am followed by Service in the Greek Orthodox Church Taxiarchae, 25 Bigelow Ave.,Watertown, MA at 10am.
