Jonathan Nicholas Anamateros, age 30, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on February 25, 2026.
He was the cherished son of Charles and Diane Anamateros. Jonathan is survived by his loving brother, Christopher Anamateros; his sister, Maria Batshon; his brother-in-law, Michael Batshon; and his beloved nephew, Raphael. Loving nephew of Jane and Peter Karagianis, and Harry and Laura Anamateros. He is also survived by many devoted cousins, relatives and friends.
Jonathan was actively involved in many faith-based activities, including the Metropolis of Boston Camp (MBC), where he was affectionately known as “Smiles.” His warmth, kindness, and ever-present smile left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He recently traveled to Denver and Chicago to participate in Young Adult League (YAL) conferences, where he enjoyed meeting new people and strengthening his faith and friendships.
Jonathan had a deep love for history and enjoyed traveling to visit historical landmarks and civil war battlefields. He was an avid coin collector and had recently developed a passion for photography.
Jonathan attended Westwood High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. During his college years, he formed strong and lasting friendships with his classmates and roommates. Jonathan was employed at State Street Bank, where he worked on the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team.
Jonathan’s family and friends will always remember his bright smile, gentle spirit, and loving personality. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday March 5, 2026, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown St., Weston, MA from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Demetrios Iconography Fund.
Burial at The Gardens Cemetery in West Roxbury.
