John Donald MacKinnon, of Watertown, Mass., passed away on March 22, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on December 15, 1934 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. Son of the late Dougald and Margaret (MacLean) MacKinnon. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Marie (Boudreau) MacKinnon. Devoted father of John D. MacKinnon,Jr. and his wife Renee, and David M. MacKinnon.  Cherished grandfather of Jeremy MacKinnon, Alyssa MacKinnon, Kaitlin MacKinnon and Hannah MacKinnon. Great grandfather of Jaxson Silvestri.  Loving brother of Mary MacFarlane, Catherine Smith and her husband P.A., Neil MacKinnon and his wife Sandra, Jimmy MacKinnon, Jessie MacKinnon, Jeanette Campbell and her husband Jackie, Sandy MacKinnon and his wife Jane, Dan MacKinnon, and the late John Duncan MacKinnon, D.A. MacKinnon.  Brother-in-law of Carrie MacKinnon and the late Malcolm MacFarlane.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada.  John was an avid card player and loved playing and spending time with his family. His favorite hockey team was the Toronto Maple Leafs. He enjoyed trips to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada to visit his family.  He was employed at Waltham Lime & Cement for over 20 years.  He will be sadly missed. A Funeral Mass will be held at a time and place to be announced. Donations in his memory may be made to Sacred Heart Parish, 770 Mt.
