John Kakavoulis,93 of Somerville, Massachusetts passed away on January 19, 2026.

He was the beloved husband of the late Kalliopi (Sampanis) Kakavoulis. Devoted father of Maria Thanopoulos and her husband Harris, Terry Kakavoulis and his wife Rose, and Eleni Kontis and her husband John.

He was the devoted Pappou to John Kakavoulis , Katerina Thanopoulos, Alexandra Graciale and her husband Josh, Alexandra Kontis and Nikolas Kontis.  Beloved brother of Christina Karogiannis and her husband George.  He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Greece.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central Street, Somerville, MA at 10AM.  Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the Faggas Funeral Home, ,551 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown, MA from 5PM to 8PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the above named church.

Burial immediately following the funeral service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
