John Fanendakis,96, of Newtonville, Massachusetts passed away on March 28, 2023. Born in Boston, Mass. Beloved husband of the late Angela Barberakis. Loving son of the late Nicholas and Katina (Sfakianakis) Fanendakis. Loving father of Frances Eldridge and her husband Frank and the late Tina Kalamaras. Cherished grandfather of Kristyna Eldridge and her fiancé Nicholas Levesque, John Eldridge, Angela A. Rodriquez and her husband Rafael, Katina, Frances and Kostas Kalamaras. Brother of the late Peter Fanendakis, the late Terry Fanendakis, and the late George Fanendakis. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He would spend summers in West Yarmouth at his summer home. He had traveled to Greece and Hawaii with his late wife Angela. He loved football and a good debate with anyone who would challenge him. He was especially proud of his grandson and namesake John Eldridge who is currently deployed with the United States Army in the Middle East.  John was also a proud Veteran of the United States Airforce and served during the Korean War. He also received a Presidential Unit Citation from the Airforce.  Funeral services on Friday, March 31st at 10 am in St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church ,15 Union Park St, Boston, MA. Visiting hours on Thursday, March 30th from 5:30- 8:30 pm in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Burial in the Gardens at Gethsemane, West Roxbury, MA.
