Joanne E. (Papadinis) Piandes, 90, of Woburn, Mass. formerly of Arlington, Mass. passed away on April 27, 2025. Born in Boston, Mass. she was the daughter of the late George and Maria (Copanas) Papadinis.  She was raised in Roxbury, Mass. She married the love of her life Anthony A. Piandes in 1956. They made their home in Arlington where they raised their three children; Alex, Elaine and Stacey.

In 1973, she worked as the secretary at St. Athanasius Greek Orthodox Church in Arlington, Mass. for many years. In the 80's, she started working at Arthur D. Little in Cambridge, Mass.

She loved gardening, cooking, vacationing on the Cape with her family and embroidering. She made beautiful table cloths and blankets for all of her family. She was devoted to St. Athanasius the Great Church in Arlington since its inception. She was past president of St. Barbara's Philoptochos, a member of the choir and the parish council.

She traveled to Greece with her granddaughter, Francesca. She attended her grandson Mark's baseball games and her grandson Matthew's football games. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In 2003 her beloved husband Anthony passed away and she sold her home and went to live with her daughter Elaine.

She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony A. Piandes.  Devoted mother of Alex A. Piandes and his wife Diane, Elaine M. Tilly and her husband Paul, and Stacey J. Piandes.  Loving Yiayia of Lauren Piandes, Mark Piandes, Francesca Bartolomeo, Anthony Bartolomeo, and Matthew Tilly. Sister of the late Rosemont "Rosie" Papadinis and the late Harriet Kozich.  Also survived by many relatives and friends.

Funeral Service on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at St. Athanasius The Great Greek Church, 4 Appleton Street, Arlington, MA at 11AM.  Visitation prior to the Service from 9AM to 11AM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the above named church.  Burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington, Mass.
