Joan M.
Cacciatore
March 25, 1934 – May 7, 2020
Joan M(Landry) Cacciatore of Sudbury, MA entered into eternal rest and peace on
May 7th , 2020.
She just recently celebrated her 86 th birthday from the window with a loving family looking up, waving, singing and wishing her the best during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Born and raised in Waltham, MA, Joan was the eldest of five children of the late Louis and Esther (Cooper) Landry.
She graduated from Rosary Academy Class of 1952
Joan was married to the late Francis P. Cacciatore of Waltham in 1957 and together they had two children and three grandchildren whom she adored.
She was happiest when she was able to spend time with family. Joan was a devout Catholic and prayed for everyone in the family, and their loved ones, on a daily basis.
Of the many jobs Joan had throughout her life, her most rewarding ones were when she worked as a monitor on a special needs school bus, and when she worked as a companion caretaker elderly adults . in both, Waltham and Newton. Even after becoming a resident at Wingate (now Bear Mountain) of Sudbury Joan became a member of the resident's council because she wanted to help be a spokesperson and look out for the best interest of other residents.
She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 440.
She is predeceased by her parents Louis and Esther Landry, her husband Francis Cacciatore, her two brothers Paul and Richard, and her sister Carol (Husselbee) all of Waltham, MA.
Joan leaves behind her son Paul J. Cacciatore and his wife Karen (Leone) of Stow, MA; and her son Phillip F. Cacciatore and his companion Sharon Donato of Somerville, MA. She is also survived by her three grandsons Christopher, Daniel and Paul Jr. Cacciatore; her devoted sister -inlaw Mary Landry, of Waltham brother, Robert Landry of South Carolina; and numerous sister and brother-in-law's, and nieces and nephews, great and grand.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the many kind, compassionate staff members of Wingate (Bear Mountain) of Sudbury for the wonderful care and love they have given to Joan for the last 5 ½ years.
As a result of the ongoing health crisis in our world and love and concern of our family and friend's Joan's funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
