Obituary

The family of Jessica “Jessi” Hornfeldt is deeply saddened to announce her passing on September 25, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Jessi was born on May 1, 1954, in Los Angeles, CA. Shortly after her birth, she was adopted by Suzette and Stanley Wallman and raised alongside her four adopted siblings in Malibu, CA. She lived a full life in Malibu, riding horses on the beach, hanging out with rockstars, driving a tiny MG, skydiving, and embracing an artist’s free-spirited life.

She moved to Brookline, MA, as a mother and built a life centered on family and community. She will be remembered as a maker of all the things that she loved most: music, family, food, art, clothing, and jewelry. She had a gifted eye and impeccable taste, which she brought to everything she created.

Jessi carried the lifelong struggle of displacement from her Native American culture, yet embraced her identity with strength and pride.

She was a talented and empathetic caretaker of all things living. She was a mother to many, a sister to all, and a beautiful soul whose love and dedication to her community touched countless lives. For many years, she selflessly gave her time, energy, and heart to the AA community offering friendship, guidance, and support to so many people along the way.

Jessi will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years, Eric; her children, Caleb and Rikki; her daughter-in-law, Annie; her siblings, Michael, Gina, and Krissy; and her nieces, nephews, extended family, and the many dear friends she made throughout her life.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and to all the nurses and doctors who provided care, compassion, and support.

Two celebrations of Jessi’s life will be held at later dates, one on the east coast and one on the west coast.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Jessi’s memory to consider a donation to ICMS of Vinalhaven, Maine, at https://www.icmsvh.org
