James Stephen Collins, 'Jim', of Brookline, MA passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 30.
Jim was born on April 24, 1991 in Pittsfield, MA to John and Janet (Wong) Collins. Jim graduated from Pittsfield High School in 2009. He attended Bentley University in Waltham, MA and earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Accountancy in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He most recently was working as a senior accountant at Foundation Medicine, Inc., in Cambridge, MA.
Jim married the love of his life, Marsha C. Wibowo on September 26, 2020. Jim and Marsha were remarkably loving and devoted soulmates who enjoyed family time, playing board games, and walking along the riverfront. They dedicated their marriage to serve God and others. Jim's faith in God gave him great inner strength, and his smile and love of life were infectious to everyone around him. He was chivalrous and could always put a smile on your face with his humor and many catch phrases.
Jim was an active member of Mosaic Boston Church in Brookline, MA and the Knights of Columbus, and served as a volunteer for Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care. Jim enjoyed cooking, going to see the Boston Celtics, was a Boston Red Sox fan, and was an aviation and weather enthusiast. At the end of the day, Jim always loved a good nap.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Collins, of Brookline, MA, his parents, John and Janet Collins of Pittsfield, MA, his brother Joseph Collins, of Dalton, MA, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 4-7 PM at the Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, MA. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 4 PM at Mosaic Boston Church, 1187 Beacon St., Brookline, MA. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 191 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 10 AM. Family requests masks be worn at all services. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions are suggested to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation ( https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/ ). Burial will be private.
